Jacen Flynn's Driver Seat Jeannie Choke

Jacen Flynn: Driver Seat To "Jeannie Choke"

Jacen Flynn describes how to perform his Jeannie Choke from Driver Seat.

This technique got it's name because it resembles the Jeannie's power summoning move from the "I Dream Of Jeannie" T.V. show, but don't let the name fool you because this submission technique is brutal when done correctly. This is just one of many submission techniques available to you from the Driver Seat. As you can see the Jeannie Choke works great with the upshift and c-grip techniques utilized by the Driver Seat. It is also a submission that keeps you in great position in case something doesn't go according to plan.

  • Step 1: Start in a standard mount position.
  • Step 2: Place one arm under your opponent's head and control the wrist with your other.
  • Step 3: Controlling your opponent's wrist, use shoulder roles to force your shoulder under the chin.
  • Step 4: Gripping your opponent's wrist like a stick shift, upshift and c-grip their armpit.
  • Step 5: Holding a firm c-grip in the armpit, downshift your opponent's arm pinning it to the ground.
  • Step 6: Shift your weight to one side while keeping downward pressure on the neck.
  • Step 7: Keep your legs tight to your opponent's hips.
  • Step 8: Lock out your elbow so you opponent can not bring their arm back inside.
  • Step 9: Once in Driver Seat, bring your opponent's arm up over their head.
  • Step 10: Place your opponent's arm between your head and your opponent's.
  • Step 11: Release the c-grip so you can hug your opponent's head and arm.
  • Step 12: Griping your own elbows squeeze everything together.
  • Step 13: Get into your Track Stance by place one knee on the stomach and posting the other.
  • Step 14: Keeping pressure on the stomach run the clock by stepping toward your opponent's head.
  • Step 15: Continue driving and squeezing until you get the tap.

Special notes:

- Your opponent will most likely keep their chin tucked so us the repeated shoulder roll technique to force it in.

- When you upshift, pick the arm up slightly so you can secure a good c-grip.

- Keep the pressure on so your opponent is more concerned with their neck then the coming submission.

- Be sure to adjust your weight to the side so you can better control your opponent's free arm.

- Keep your head tight when you squeeze your elbows together.

- When running the clock, use your knee pressure to stretch out your opponent.
