Jacen Flynn's Triangle Choke

Jacen Flynn: Modified Triangle Choke

Jacen Flynn describes how to perform his version of the Triangle Choke.

In this video Jacen shows his version of the standard Triangle Choke submission technique. Many submission techniques fail because they do not induce a tap quickly enough. It is for this reason that Jacen is constantly tinkering with traditional techniques to make them better and more efficient. His modified version of the Triangle Choke takes away the space in the triangle at a far faster rate. This will encourage a tape more quickly, thus increasing the likelihood of success.

  • Step 1: Start in a traditional triangle position.
  • Step 2: Shift your hips to get the good angle.
  • Step 3: Curl your toes and pull everything down tight.
  • Step 4: Squeeze your knees together to get the tap.

Special notes:

- Make sure your chopping leg is tight by securing a deep hook with your top leg.

- Don't forget to shift your hips so you further decrease the space within the triangle.

- Curling your toes will help bring everything down and in.

- Instead of pulling down on the head to finish, hug your knees and pinch them together.
