Jacen Flynn's Crucifix To Reverse Triangle

Jacen Flynn: Crucifix to Reverse Triangle Choke

Jacen Flynn describes how to use the Crucifix to set up a Triangle Choke.

In this video Jacen explains how to use the Crucifix to set up the Reverse Triangle Choke. This technique shows how to create options when your opponent is in the Turtle position. Jacen also goes over proper hip placement to maintain control of your opponent while you set up the move. The Crucifix is a great control position that can set up many submission opportunities.

  • Step 1: Your opponent gets into the Turtle position.
  • Step 2: Put your pocket tight on your opponent's hip.
  • Step 3: Use the Gift Wrap to maintain control.
  • Step 4: Lean back slightly so you can insert your bottom knee between your opponent's knee and elbow.
  • Step 5: Use your knee to force your opponent's arm out away from their body.
  • Step 6: Use your top leg to catch the arm and pull it back to look for the tap.
  • Step 7: Your opponent will roll their arm so you trap it with your bottom leg.
  • Step 8: Switch your harness grip to a one armed Rear Naked Choke position.
  • Step 9: Keeping the arm trapped, roll over your shoulder and bring your opponent over to their back.
  • Step 10: Trap your opponent's free arm and attempt to finish the choke.
  • Step 11: Clear your opponent's head, bring your leg over the head and secure the Reverse Triangle Choke.
  • Step 12: Squeeze your legs together to finish the Reverse Triangle Choke.
  •

    Special notes:

    - Keep your hips tight the entire time.

    - Create tension by leaning back, but do not lift your opponent off the ground.

    - Try to hook your opponent's arm as high as possible.

    - As soon as you roll, trap your opponent's free arm.

    - Clear your opponent's head to make hitting the Reverse Triangle easier.
